My
letter was chosen to go out March 1 as the official fundraiser letter for the
Mentoring Children of Prisoners program. This is great news because I've been working through a copywriting for the fundraising market class, and this is my first opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause.
Right now, two million American children and teens have at least one parent
in prison. This type of separation is devastating. The children miss their
parents. Their grades suffer.
Their family may not be able to make ends meet. They will more likely to commit
a crime.
The Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program is working to help as many
children through this difficult time by matching them up with caring mentors.
Each mentor is committed to spending at least one hour a week for at least a
year doing fun and enriching activities.
